Pillow Queens Announce US Tour

Dublin’s Pillow Queens have announced a North American tour in support of their recently-released third album, Name Your Sorrow, out now on Royal Mountain. If you haven’t heard the album, it’s an indie rock exploration of love, loneliness, queerness, and more that scratches a similar itch as Tegan & Sara as well as contemporaries like boygenius (with whom they share producer Colin Pastore). Guitarist/vocalist Cathy McGuinness says it’s “about stages of love, loss and grief and how they can all exist alongside one another–intertwined, messy, beautiful–how both love and loss can coexist.” In an interview with Atwood Magazine, she adds, “I really hope listeners listen to the entire record in one sitting and in order. The tracklisting is very intentional and hopefully brings you on a turbulent journey, but leaves you with a hopeful end.” You can do just that by streaming the album below.

The newly-announced North American tour kicks off with the band’s previously announced appearance at Hopscotch Festival and also includes Ohana Festival and headlining shows in NYC, Chicago, San Francisco, Toronto, Vancouver, and more. Tickets go on sale Friday (7/12).

The NYC stop is at Mercury Lounge on September 8. All dates are listed on the tour poster below.
